Flagstaff – Refreshing a transport icon
Located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia, Flagstaff station is one of three Melbourne Underground Rail Loop (MURL) stations.
Now known by Melburnians simply as the ‘City Loop’, construction on MURL commenced in 1971 and wrapped up with the opening of Flagstaff Station in 1985.
After nearly 40 years, the time had come to refresh fire & line safety at this iconic station.
CoMade is supporting Flagstaff station’s transformation to a beacon of safety and efficiency, bringing the station in-line with current safety standards and practices for the safe egress of personnel during emergency situations.
Delivering upgrades to emergency management and infrastructure systems to include state-of-the-art sprinkler systems, mechanical smoke management system, power and an optimised platform lighting, CoMade is helping deliver excellence in transportation and contributed to the thriving urban landscape of Melbourne, to create a secure and seamless journey for every traveller.
Engaged for constructibility procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of electrical infrastructure works, the talented CoMade team have completed the project ahead of program and within budget and quality requirements.
