FMG – CoMade levels up power capability for WA

Targeting increased connectivity of the Pilbara in Western Australia to drive efficient power use, Pilbara Energy Company, a subsidiary of Fortescue, planned to develop the Pilbara Transmission Project, investing some $250 million in a high voltage power transmission network.

CoMade Group team was engaged to install and commission four 220kV GIS Siemens units as substations across the Pilbara region. Utilising extremely complex equipment and navigating a raft of delivery challenges including the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, remote location and logistics to deliver safely and ahead of the project deadline.

CoMade were highly commended by both the project and site management teams for their exemplary professionalism and ability to strategic realign the critical path program to address unexpected hurdles to delivery successfully.
